Raymond was educated in Malacca in Malaysia, then Oundle School in Peterborough. He graduated from Charing Cross Medical School in 1991. He underwent specialist training in Orthopaedics and Trauma in the Northern Rotation based in Newcastle, as well as undertaking a Fellowship in Sports Orthopaedics in Edinburgh. Experience in shoulder surgery was also enhanced by a Travelling Fellowship to Canada and USA.
Raymond was appointed a consultant in 2002.
